Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A massive fire engulfed an edible oil warehouse in Sankrail Industrial Park, Howrah, around 7 am on Saturday morning. Even at approximately by 11:00 am, the fire continued to rage despite efforts from 11 fire tenders. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started with smoke emanating from inside the warehouse and quickly spreading beyond its confines. Industrial park employees initiated firefighting measures, followed by the arrival of fire brigade vehicles, which have successfully contained the fire's further expansion through strategic water deployment.
The fire department, in conjunction with the police, is set to conduct an investigation into the adequacy of fire-fighting systems within the warehouse and determine the root causes of the blaze. Notably, a similar large-scale fire incident occurred at Mangalahat Market in Howrah back in July.
